Expertise

I am professor in Observational Data Analysis at Erasmus University Medical Center in the Netherlands. I have a PhD from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Groningen (cum laude), a pharmacy degree and a Master in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. My research group focuses on knowledge discovery from data collected in routine health care to improve evidence on drug and vaccine safety and rare diseases. We create infrastructures and use these as prototypes in many distributed networks in projects funded by the European Commission, the Innovative Medicines Initiative, the European Medicines Agency, ECDC, and also privately funded projects. I serve on many boards. Beyond this job I also am a coach (Zijnsorientatie/Awakening) which I like to use to help my female colleagues to be able to grow personally and give what they can best do: connect their brains with their loving hearts, and from there progress science and the academic community
