We are delighted to invite you to the 2025 LNVH Affiliates’ Meeting. This year’s gathering will bring together affiliates for an inspiring evening of keynote presentations, lively discussion, and a shared dinner in the beautiful setting of the Mauritshuis in The Hague. Our focus on good governance will provide valuable insights and perspectives on how governance principles can shape and strengthen scientific practice.

Keynote speaker
Prof. Amanda Goodall
Professor of Leadership, Bayes Business School (City, University of London)
Prof. Goodall’s research examines the impact of leaders on organizational performance, with a particular focus on expertise and evidence-based leadership in universities, hospitals, and beyond. She is a widely published scholar and a recognized voice on leadership in knowledge-intensive organizations, and author of the book The Power of the Expert Leader.
Moderator
Marcia Luyten
Journalist, writer, and moderator
With a background in economics and extensive experience in international affairs, politics, and culture, Marcia Luyten, former presenter of the Dutch television program ‘Buitenhof’, a prominent weekly political talk show that features in-depth interviews with leading politicians, policymakers, and academics, is known for her engaging style of moderating complex debates and bringing clarity to multifaceted discussions.

Prof. Paulien Herder
Professor of Engineering Systems, Delft University of Technology
Prof. Herder’s work centers on complex systems engineering and innovation management in the energy sector. She has extensive experience in academic governance and in steering large-scale interdisciplinary projects. She is also a member of the Committee for the Evaluation of the Code of Good Governance of Universities
(Universities of the Netherlands), contributing her expertise to the future of governance in Dutch academia.
Prof. Corien Prins
Professor of Law and Chair of the Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR)
Prof. Prins specializes in law and digital technologies and has been a leading voice in advising government on science policy and societal challenges. She brings an authoritative perspective on governance at the intersection of law, technology, and society.
Prof. Jonathan Soeharno
Professor of Law and Legal Philosophy, University of Amsterdam
Prof. Soeharno’s research addresses integrity, ethics, and the rule of law, with a particular focus on the moral responsibilities of institutions. His insights bridge the worlds of jurisprudence and practical governance.
