Westerdijkjaar: Famous Fungi Symposium
The Famous Fungi Symposium focusses on fungi that became famous for their enormous impact on our lives, and fungi that may become famous in the future.
This symposium is part of the ‘Westerdijk’-year and will honour the work of the first Dutch female professor, Johanna Westerdijk. She was director of the Westerdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute, formerly known as the CBS-KNAW. We will reflect on her famous scientific contributions and discuss the world-changing potential of fungi.
