Workshop Gender aspects in development projects

June 11, 2015 - 19.00-22.00u
Muntmeesters, Leidsekade 117, 3531 HD Utrecht

Women in Europe for a Common Future (WECF) is an international network of over 150 women’s, environmental and health organisations implementing projects in 50 countries and advocating globally for a healthy environment for all. Our Overall Goal: Achieving an Equitable and Sustainable Future. We strive for balancing the environment, health and economy, taking the different needs and perspectives of women and men into account. We enable women and men to participate at local and global levels in policy processes for sustainable development. Our network’s activities are based on our partners’ own visions and needs. WECF implements solutions locally and influences policy internationally.

In this workshop we will give you some ideas about gender aspects and women´s perspectives in sustainable development. Some general explanations and international commitments will be explained and concrete ideas will be shared: How to integrate gender aspects into development projects? Why is it important to involve women and men and how to do it?

Some interactive tools to better understand gender issues will be applied during the workshop and there will be sufficient space for interaction and discussion.
